I’ve been skiing for my first time last week (don’t tell my lecturers!!) and I’d like to share this experience with everyone. I wasn’t extremely excited, but now I can’t wait for next winter!! Thanks to my husband!
We flew to Christchurch and drove to Methven, where we stayed for 4 nights in the Snow Denn Lodge. It was a great place to stay, not expensive at all and in the centre of the city.

We went to Mt-Hutt to ski. I think is not the best for beginners as there is just one small green ski field. We skied the first 3 days, and then the weather was too windy, so the ski area was closed.

We spent our last night on Christchurch. We stayed at the Highway Inn. It wasn’t the best hotel, but it was near the airport, and it had everything we could need. I didn’t like Christchurch. So, if you are planning to go there, I’d recommend you not to spend more than one day!
It was a lovely experience. We met people from Brazil, NZ, Australia, India, England, and incredibly… from Zimbabwe!
